Kind Community: Spreading Kindness Year-Round
Kind Community isn’t just about one week of events – it’s a year-round movement dedicated to creating a more positive, connected community. This amazing team of Board Directors, committee members (“Kind Crewsaders”), along with volunteers and community partners work tirelessly to spread kindness in various ways.
Year-Round Initiatives
Building a Network: Kind Community encourages collaboration and shared resources among diverse organizations and individuals, even those who may sometimes be seen as competitors.
“You Matter” Campaign:
Focus on Youth: Empowering and supporting youth remains a core focus, recognizing that fostering kindness in young people creates a ripple effect
Reminding community members of all ages that they are valued is central to Kind Community’s work. The “You Matter, You Are Valued, You Belong” signs are just one visible reminder of this message.
Kind Week: A Celebration of Kindness
Kind Week is the flagship event where all of Kind Community’s efforts come together in a joyful celebration! A typical Kind Week includes:
- Kickoff Celebration: Festivities with food, music, and opportunities to learn how local businesses and organizations practice kindness.
- Community Conversations: Important discussions on issues such as youth mental well-being.
- Supporting Local Causes: Initiatives like “KIND KITS” to support personal hygiene needs and the Kind Community Coloring Book for elementary students.
- Celebrating Kindness Champions: The KIND Kid, Kind Ambassadors, and KIND Community Awards honor those who make kindness a priority.
- Partnerships: Teaming up with Girl Scouts, Zoo Idaho, and more to reach as many people as possible.
Beyond Kind Week
The spirit of kindness continues throughout the year, driven by the passion of Kind Community members, volunteers, and the Idaho State University Kind Community Club.
